Hello! I'm Christina Nevin, designer and creator of Thorngrove Studio.
I started off my adult life getting a Masters' degree in Egyptology, and then went on to work as a writer. I grew up a city girl in Auckland, New Zealand, the sunny City of Sails. Currently I live halfway around the world in a suburb just outside London, next to a royal forest preserve where the wild boars roam. Seriously. Though I've never managed (perhaps fortunately) to see one myself.
I've been making jewellery since my dad taught me to solder and do torch enamelling when I was thirteen - a life-long fascination with metal, colour and shiny objects was launched! Since then I've developed my practical skills & knowledge through a variety of technical college courses and workshops, ranging from traditional techniques such as wax carving, casting and sawing, to more modern areas such as polymer clay work and (successfully) training as a PMC teacher.
Here you'll find my jewellery, both assembled & hand-forged, which I make in my studio in Berkshire, England. All the jewellery is my own original design work (although I must admit there's only so many things anyone can do with a length of wire and a single pearl!). I like to have a starting point of inspiration for my designs, and I have two current collections; Tropical Wilds and Wintergarden, as well as a range of one-off necklaces on the Uniquary page.
I hope you will find something here to lift your spirits, and delight the passage of your eyes...
